THEA Home
My THEA
"I believe that parents, not government, have the primary responsibility for the education
of their children."

- President Ronald Reagan
Welcome to THEA!

The Tennessee Home Education Association (THEA) was formed in 1984
to provide a statewide network of support, encouragement, and assistance to homeschooling families and  for the purpose of preserving and defending the rights of parents to direct the education of their children. Whether you are looking for help starting your home school, or are a veteran home educator looking for a local support group or encouragement, this is the place to connect with our state-wide network of volunteer homeschooling parents and others supportive of parental rights. By dividing the state into seven geographical areas to establish chapters and having THEA members elect area leadership, we have developed a unified, representative homeschooling voice and strong state, regional and local support for thousands of families that home school.
